Thanks to the amazing generosity of a group of lovely ladies from the Swindon Athena women’s networking group, I’m delighted to be able to give away a limited number of fully funded tickets for the ADHD Inspiration Day in Swindon in October.
My aim has always been to enable as many people as possible to attend the event, but of course there are venue costs etc. and I’ve become very aware that even at £50 the ticket price is too expensive for many parents.
So I started a crowdfunding project to try and raise enough money to be able to offer 50 fully funded tickets, and it’s been doing pretty well, thanks to the generosity of family, friends, speakers at the event and even the odd stranger!
But the big breakthrough came last week when my project was chosen as the “good cause” for the Athena group’s fundraising summer party. Members of the group had donated prizes for a raffle and auction, including products and services, gift vouchers, and even a beautiful painting by local artist and author Lisa Cherry. There was tea and cakes, lots of chatter and I was invited along to give a presentation about ADHD, how it affects families and how the Inspiration Day will help them. The event was great fun and a huge success too – because amazingly, the lovely ladies there raised an incredible £702!!!
Yes……. £702!!
That means the total has been take to over 70% and there’s only another £537 to go for it to reach its target. I’m confident that the target can be reached – but even if it isn’t, the Athena group have promised me the money they raised anyway, so there will be some fully funded tickets available whatever – it’s just a case of how many.
So THANK YOU to the Swindon Athena ladies for their support and generosity (extra big thanks to Ellen Watts of ElleRich Training for organising the event and choosing me as a good cause!), and thank you to everyone else who has pledged in the crowdfunding project. Only a few more pledges and we’ll be there!
And if you would like to apply for one of the fully funded tickets you can do so by clicking here. They are strictly limited and available on application only … but please do apply and good luck!
