alison thompson_adhd-authorHi, and thank you for visiting ADHD Kids. I’m Alison Thompson, a UK-based ADHD author, speaker, coach, and mum to Daniel, who was diagnosed with ADHD when he was six.

Throughout my son’s life we have struggled with the various challenges of ADHD, including school exclusions, trouble with the police, meltdowns, misunderstandings and mishaps. My first book, The Boy From Hell: Life with a Child with ADHD came out in March 2013 and in it I document our ADHD journey and pass on all the tips, advice and information I have found useful along the way.

Following publication of the book I have been taking our story further afield, speaking to parenting groups, educators, conferences, charities, interest groups and other organisations about ADHD and its implications, not just for the child but for their family and the wider community too.

I am a trained NLP Practitioner and Coach and I’ve devised an exclusive online parenting programme to help parents of ADHD kids negotiate the stresses of everyday life.

I’m on a three-pronged mission:

  • to help parents of ADHD kids support their children to overcome the challenges of ADHD and reach their potential
  • to help teachers understand what ADHD is and how they can best support ADHD kids in the classroom
  • to dispel the myth that ADHD is not real …!

If you would like me to speak to your group or event, please contact me.
