ADHD Speaker
I am on a mission to help parents and educators support children with ADHD. As an ADHD speaker, I want to dispel the myth that ADHD doesn’t exist. It IS a real condition and it has a huge impact of the lives of those it affects.
I can talk to any audience, large or small, about childhood ADHD and how it can be managed by the child, their parents and their teachers. I normally begin by sharing my own story. My son was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of six following his first permanent school exclusion. Since then, life has been a rollercoaster of emotions for our family. He is now 18 and life is still challenging, in different ways, but we have overcome many of the negative effects of ADHD such as meltdowns and defiant behaviour.
Following publication of my book The Boy From Hell: Life with a Child with ADHD in March 2013 I was invited to speak at several conferences, and my career as an ADHD speaker has grown from there. Although I have done some public speaking training I’m not your typical polished conference speaker. As an ADHD speaker my talk is raw and authentic, and it comes from the heart. My story is an emotional one and by sharing it, it often enables other people to share their own stories, which can be a cathartic experience. Tissues are optional, but often essential!
My talk can be tailored for any audience, and the elements below can be combined to make your presentation unique and perfect for your needs. I can include:
